Russell Horton joins FluidOne from Elite Group, as CEO

FluidOne, backed by The Rigby Group – a £2.4bn privately owned group – are a specialist data and mobile connectivity platform business formed by the 2016 merger of Fluidata and One Point.

FluidOne pioneers the aggregation of carrier networks into a single platform for customers to experience exceptional service and real-time flexibility including software defined networks. This independence and software platform provides unique differentiation for customers in the market place. FluidOne has also been recognised as one of the Times Best Companies to Work For, for many years running and has received the Queens Award for Innovation.

Russell joins FluidOne from Elite Group where he was COO, and has held a number of leadership roles across the Telecoms and IT sectors from start-ups to corporates, including senior positions at both Daisy and Vodafone. Russell succeeds Fluidata’s Founder Piers Daniell as CEO, who is stepping up to the Chairman role.

When I was approached by Harry at Erevena I wasn’t actively looking to change roles, therefore confidentiality and trust were crucial if I was to be able to explore the opportunity.

Harry established trust early on and explored whether I could be a good fit in terms of culture and experience before taking things further, saving time.

Throughout the process he was excellent and performed a strong liaison between myself and the recruiting PE firm. The end result was placing me in a role that is a great fit and an opportunity that was too good to refuse
