Erevena Assist Leading Open-Source Mobile Database, Realm, in Hiring SVP Worldwide Sales

Jeff Olson joins Y-Combinator graduate, Realm, to lead and grow their go-to-market function.

Realm's mission is to help developers build better apps faster. They provide a unique set of tools and platform technologies designed to make it easy for developers to build apps with sophisticated, powerful features — things like real-time collaboration, augmented reality, live data synchronization, offline experiences, messaging, and more. Today Realm is focused on mobile computing, but the vision is much larger. Everything they build is developed with an eye toward enabling developers for the future of mobile internet: an open network of billions of users and trillions of devices, and real-time interactivity across them all.

Having graduated from Y-Combinator in 2011, they took their time perfecting their Mobile Database product in open-source and took in Venture Capital from the likes of Greylock, A16Z, Ignition, Redpoint, and Khosla Ventures. In 2016, they were ready to commercialise the product and brought in an additional $20M as a Series B from Scale Venture Partners and Khosla Ventures to fund the build of a go-to-market function to drive steep revenue growth.

Early wins with clients such as Amazon, Google, Netflix, Starbuck, Ebay, and McDonalds confirmed their product-market fit, and Erevena was engaged in late 2017 to hire an SVP Sales to lead and grow the business. Jeff Olson was identified as the best candidate, and brought with him excellent DevTools sales credentials from BEA (Global Head of Inside Sales), Gluster/Red Hat (Senior Director of Channel Sales and Major Accounts), and most recently, TinyMCE (SVP Sales, Business Development, and Marketing).
